It is important for pool owners to take into account government and local council laws and regulations when installing pool fencing. Child safety around your pool is of primary concern, and for this reason Aqua Vista Glass recommends that you contact your relevant local council to make sure you know what your responsibilities are as a pool owner.
One of the additional benefits of choosing to use glass pool fencing is that, while glass fencing is extremely tough, it is also a difficult material to climb and doesn’t have the “gaps” between palings that more traditional fencing can be prone to.
You should also be aware that as a pool owner you are responsible not just for the installation of an appropriate pool fence, but also for the ongoing maintenance of your pool fence. For this reason it is vital to choose a high quality pool fencing product and to ensure that a good job is done on the installation.
Note that different regulations apply to pool fences depending on when the pool was built, and copies of these regulations can be downloaded from the Queensland government’s website. If you are not sure when your pool was installed, your local council may have a record, particularly when plans for the pool were submitted to council. For information on pool fencing laws in Queensland, please visit the Queensland government website, http://www.hpw.qld.gov.au/construction/BuildingPlumbing/PoolSafety/PoolSafetyLaws/Pages/default.aspx
For further specific information about pool fencing requirements, contact your local council or a private building certifier. Contact Standards Australia (www.standards.org.au) for copies of relevant Australian Standards.

The best time to clean your fence is in the morning or late afternoon. Hose the glass down with clean water. Use a sponge or soft brush / broom to apply a gentle soap, like washig up liquid and water. Remove the soap suds by hosing it down with good clean water and leave to air dry. Avoid glass cleaners as they leave a residue on your glass fence.
If your glass has been treated with Enduroshield please refer to care instructions provided in your after installation care pack.
To keep your gate locks and hinges operating smoothly, we recomend checking the fixing screw tightness regularly . Also, lubricate any move parts every six months or so.
